HubSpot is the most usable CRM, which in a category dominated by Salesforce is like being the tallest building in Omaha. The contact management is clean. The email marketing tools are well-designed. The reporting dashboards are comprehensible. But the 'Hub' architecture (Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, Service Hub) creates feature overlap and navigation confusion. The free tier is genuinely useful but the upgrade path is designed to create anxiety about missing features. Still, compared to the enterprise CRM landscape, this is a breath of fresh air.
What earns the score
- +Contact management is cleaner than any CRM competitor
- +Email marketing tools are well-designed
- +Free tier is genuinely useful
- +Onboarding is significantly better than enterprise alternatives
- +Reporting dashboards are comprehensible
What holds it back
- –Hub architecture creates navigation overlap
- –Upgrade path uses fear-of-missing-out tactics
- –Workflow builder becomes complex at scale
- –Mobile app is limited compared to desktop
