Kayak's Explore feature - the map where you enter a budget and see where you can fly - is one of the best features in travel software. The filter system for flights is comprehensive and well-designed. Price tracking alerts actually work. Where it falls apart is the booking redirect: you search on Kayak, then get dumped onto a third-party booking site with a completely different UX, different pricing, and no continuity. The core search is excellent; the end-to-end journey is fragmented.
