Lyft has benefited from restraint. While Uber chased super-app ambitions, Lyft stayed focused on rides and did a better job keeping the interface clean. The ride flow is nearly identical in quality to Uber but with less visual noise. Price transparency is slightly better. The pink branding is divisive but at least it's distinctive. Lyft proves that sometimes the best UX strategy is knowing what not to build.
