Wise is what happens when you design a financial product around transparency instead of obfuscation. The fee breakdown is shown before every transfer - not in fine print, but as a core part of the UI. The comparison tool that shows bank fees vs Wise fees is brilliant product design that also serves as marketing. The multi-currency account is clean and comprehensible. This is how every fintech should handle money but almost none do.
What earns the score
- +Fee transparency is a masterclass in trust-building UX
- +Transfer flow is clear and confidence-inspiring
- +Multi-currency account management is well-organized
- +Comparison tool doubles as product education
What holds it back
- –Feature set is intentionally narrow (by design, but limiting)
- –Business account UX trails personal account quality
- –Verification flow can be lengthy and frustrating
